Botanical Beginnings
It all started with Duncan Napier, Scotland’s preeminent herbalist. At a young age, he became an apprentice baker and started suffering from chronic cough brought about by flour dust.
In his pursuit to find a cure, he discovered his passion for herbs and joined the Edinburgh Botanical Society to create his famed cough syrup made from herbs and plants.
A Natural Success
Napier’s cough remedy became so successful that in May 1860, he opened his renowned apothecary in Edinburgh, Scotland, which still exists today, offering powerful natural remedies for various ailments to people around the world.
